Wes Okafor, Owner & Lead Insulation Technician
I started Topside Attic Insulation Morgan Hill in 2016 after watching too many blown-in jobs get dumped over unsealed top plates. Before that, I spent eight years as a weatherization crew lead for a South Bay nonprofit, crawling through attics in San Jose and Gilroy with a smoke pencil and a headlamp. I’m BPI-certified in Building Analyst and Envelope Professional, and I still carry a blower door on my truck because I don’t trust any job I can’t measure. My flat observation: a vapor retarder installed backward is just an expensive trash bag. When I’m not chasing CFM50 numbers, I’m usually restoring a 1978 Chevy K10 that runs worse than most houses I seal.
Marcus T., Senior Installer
Marcus has been with us since 2019, which makes him the longest-tenured installer after Wes. He specializes in spray foam applications, particularly the Demilec and Icynene open-cell systems we use in Morgan Hill’s older ranch homes with complex rooflines. He’s SPF-certified and has a particular knack for keeping foam off finished surfaces, a skill he developed during four years of commercial work in Santa Clara County before joining us. Marcus lives in San Martin with two Australian shepherds that shed enough to keep his vacuum-testing skills sharp. He’ll tell you himself: the best foam job is the one where the homeowner never finds a stray blob.
Diana R., Service Coordinator
Diana answers the phones, schedules the crews, and makes sure every Morgan Hill homeowner gets their written scope and written warranty before anyone lifts a tool. She’s been with us since 2021, bringing twelve years of dispatch experience from a Hayward HVAC company where she learned that “someone will call you back” is a promise that breaks itself. She keeps a whiteboard behind her desk with every active job, the technician assigned, and the blower-door target. Diana grew up in the East San Jose foothills and knows which Morgan Hill neighborhoods still have the original R-19 batts from the 1980s build boom. She doesn’t do attic crawls, but she can read an insulation schedule faster than most estimators.
Javier L., Apprentice Installer
Javier joined us in 2024 after completing the HVAC program at Gavilan College in Gilroy. He’s working toward his BPI Building Analyst certification and currently handles most of our insulation removal and replacement jobs, plus attic cleaning and rodent proofing in the Madrone and Paradise Valley areas. Javier has the patience for the dirty work, which matters because Morgan Hill’s older homes often need old fiberglass pulled out before anything new goes in. He commutes from Hollister and has already developed a reputation for spotting roof leaks that homeowners missed. His current project: learning to run the blower door solo by spring.
